The squeaky kitchen floor that wouldn’t quit, is still kicking. I made two boxes of 2″ x 6″ as supports and recovered with plywood. That section of the floor is solid, no squeaks.
Further into the kitchen I discovered another squeaky section. Just when I thought this was done. I ended up removing all of the cracked concrete. Then drove more screws than I could count next to each old nail. This seems solid and secure. I pasted on plastic sheathing as a moisture barrier. So far no more squeaks. Concrete tomorrow?
